Fire Alarm Technician
Fire Alarm Technicians are specialists in inspecting, installing, repairing and/or replacing fire alarm equipment as well as conducting preventative maintenance services pertaining to many difference manufacturers equipment. Self-motivation, customer service orientated, strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary.

- Test all equipment after installation or repairs made to ensure system performance.
- Troubleshoot, knowledge of ground faults, shorts, and open circuits.
- Adhere to VFS safety manual with the safety of self and all others in mind at all times.
- Daily communication with VFS office pertaining to all aspects of each inspection or project.
- Work closely with VFS office admin to ensure successful project closeout and turnover of job so the work can be billed immediately.
- Responsible for training entry-level employees on VFS procedures, systems inspection and installation techniques.
- All work to adhere to NFPA standards.
Qualifications
- A minimum 2 years of experience is required.
- At least 18 years old.
- NICET I Certification with NICET II Certification within 2 years after NICET I is achieved.
- Have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, in accordance with VFS policy.
- Working knowledge fire sprinkler controls, fire alarm panels and devices.
- Willing to perform testing, inspections and maintenance.
- Able to use tablet to record and transmit inspection documents.
- Willing to coordinate between inspection deficiencies and service required to correct deficiencies.
- Capability of presenting inspection information and respond to questions from customers and AHJs.
- Willing to take and pass drug test, pass background and reference checks.
- CSA Certification is preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 50lbs or more with or without reasonable assistance.
- Daily walking, climbing, bending and reaching.
